English Abstract

Higher education is proven to be unique when it comes to applying quality assurance principles in comparison with manufacturing and service sectors.

In fact, each higher education institution is unique and different than other institutions due to various cultural and structural reasons.

The differences seen between public and private institutions just add more truth to this theory.

While many institutions are pushed toward having quality assurance departments or becoming accredited, we feel this is unfair to many institutions due to the lack of ability or true interest.

What we offer instead is a framework that is helps institutions realize their true ability and most likely chance to successfully utilize quality assurance and accreditation status.

The framework provided in this research is supported by a case study from an Arabic university.
