English Abstract

The use of technology in education has become a standard component in many universities & organizations.

As institutions adopt e-learning solutions, a question remains about the quality of their elearning courses & programs.

Although quality assurance policies have been widely incorporated within higher education institutions, little attention has been paid to the implication of quality aspects in e learning.

With the development of new & innovative learning methodologies that are basically dependent on Web 2.0 technologies & social media, it seems prudent to use the same technology for monitoring the quality of the new learning environment.

Open ECB Check is a model for using such technology to deliver a quality label for elearning that is accessible, transparent & community based.

It can be adapted to institutional demands at national, regional & global levels.
