Quality of life reefers TO an individual s overall well-being and daily functioning.

Health related quality of life con be divided into three principal component: physical health (e.g.

general health, daily functioning, symptoms such as pain and seizures and side, effects of drugs, strength, ability to work): mental health (e.g.

mood, self-esteem, perception of well being.

perceived stigma); and social health (e.g.

social activities and relationships) This work was designed to study the impact of, a chronic.

Disease epilepsy and antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) on the overall aspect of of life of adult Egyptian epileptic patients The study included 100 adult epileptic patients (58 males, 42 females) with age ranged from 18-54 (mean 27+-9.1).

They were subjected to full neuropsychiatric evaluation, EEG study, assessment of IQ using WAIS and assessment of quality of life using Quality of life in Epilepsy inventory 31 scales (QOLIE-31) the results showed that 44% of our studied epileptic patients had bad to fair quality of life.

Male epileptics had significantly better quality of life than Female epileptics especially as regard seizure worry.

Emotional well being and Medication effect.

Epilepsy has significant (p<0.001) worse impact on social functioning of epileptic patients.

Seizure worries have strung effect on employment eight percent of our studied epileptic patients could' not retain any work because of and those who have significantly higher seizure frequencyy (30 seizure/ year )than other epileptic patients compliant epileptics have significantly lower seizure frequency ( 8.7±11.1 aseizure/year) and significantly higher scores on the total of QOLIE than non compliant patients
