Exogenous lipoid pneumonia is an uncommon condition resulting from aspiration or inhalation of fat-like material, such as mineral oil found in laxatives and various aerosolized industrial materials.
A historical review of the literature, which includes: sources of lipoid pneumonia, patho-physiology, clinical features, diagnosis, complications and treatment are presented.
