English Abstract

Gravitational lensing is the phenomena of light deflection by massive bodies .

In this work the gravitational lensing phenomena has been employed to study the cosmological application and calculate Hubble constant Ho which gives an idea about the age of the universe . There is no general mathematical model applicable for various lensing systems since there are many physical variables included and there is correlation complicity . From here the idea of the study comes to find a suitable procedure to exploit the data in calculating time delay (Δt) then determine Hubble constant Ho . This study includes processing the intensity data of images A & B of quasar microlensing for two lensing systems Q0957+561 and Q2237+0305 by using MATLAB software to find (Δt) , two techniques were applied :- 1- Discrete Fourier Transform . 2- Cross-Correlation Function . Results have been obtained for Hubble constant Ho after a suitable model was adopted for quasars Q0957+561 and Q2237+0305 and the value of Δt used to obtain Ho , from the value of (Δt) of quasar Q0957+561 (Ho ≈ 66.29 km.sec-1.Mpc-1) have been found and from (Δt) of Q2237+0305 ( Ho ≈ 77 km.sec-1.Mpc-1 ) .

Then the applications of strong lensing which include the diameter of lens ( galaxy ) , the distances of the systems have been studied for seven lensing systems in Friedman models (open case , closed case , Euclidean case ) .
