English Abstract

The method used in this work, for confirmation of the presence of Extra-solar planets, depends on information collected from available online data.

This method is concerning with calculating the metallicity of Extra-solar planets stars and relation with masses of these stars.

The masses of these stars found in the range: (0.89 ≤ MStar ≤ 1.23) solar mass.

This range of masses, leads to do further calculations concerning the metallicity ratio [Fe/H] which is a good tool in deciding, for choosing stars from catalogues as candidates in the purpose of observing new Extra-solar planets.

The result of this ratio showed range value of (-0.023 to 0.224) with an overall average equals (0.132 ± 0.1).

This is in agreement with that obtained by Schneider and equal (0.133 ± 0.11) for discovered stars accompanied with planets revolving around.

The technique used in this method is via data reduction of obtained spectra from available online database of observations for the stars sample.

The absorption lines for the hydrogen and iron were determined and have been used for the purpose of calculating stars intensities.

Intensities of these spectra were plotted as a function of wavelengths for each spectrum.

The absorption lines for hydrogen and iron were measured against stars intensities.

Eventually the metallicity equation has been applied to determine the [Fe/H] for each case.

Results for calculating the metallicity ratio were found in a good agreement with those found by Schneider [2010].

The metallicity ratio is a good criteria for planning observing new exoplanets by astronomers, which will save their efforts, instead of looking randomly to stars in the sky for this purpose.
