English Abstract

Gravitational lensing is bending the light by massive bodies.

It is a powerful tool to study the universe.

This work focuses on the main and most common models, which are: · Point mass model. · Singular isothermal sphere model without shear. · Singular isothermal sphere model with shear. For the three cases of the universe, eight systems are selected for performing the present study. A computer simulation is curried out to evaluate the main parameters effect of the gravitational lensing system.

The following effects have been studied for this work: · Effects of the lens mass. · Effects of the source position. · Effects of the distances of the gravitational lensing system. · Effects of shear. The results show that the mass has significant effects on the specification and characteristics of the resulting images.

Also, the time delay calculations were performed for the selected systems in order to calculate Hubble constant by using three methods: · Discrete Fourier Transform. · Cross Correlation Function. · Generalized Isothermal Model. From the results and the procedure of method the last one is preferred, because it requires less parameters, and it is more reliable.

From this work the value of Hubble constant has been estimated and it is (72.8 km s−1 Mpc−1) .
