English Abstract
While image size and location can be determined using paraxial optics, the quality of the image can be evaluated fully only by means of exact ray tracing.
In this thesis a new suggested method is used.
The new method deals with the three dimensional skew exact ray tracing.
It divides the problem of skew ray tracing into two meridional ray tracing.
The surface of the reflector is divided into two subreflectors perpendicular to each other at the point of intersection of the ray with the surface.
The functions that describe the subreflectors are obtained from the function of the surface.
A new numerical method to find the point of intersection of the ray with the reflector also is suggested.
It is searching the solution for 10-14 accuracy.
The task of writing program software to perform the ray tracing and graphing the results is done with our software CAMOSD an acronym of "Computer Aided Mirror and Optical System Design." In this software the evaluation and optimization process were performed using the spot size as a performance parameter.
The parameters a1, a2…….a9 had been optimized to give the least spot size.
These parameters used to indicate the shape of the reflector surface using the even polynomial of the conic section base.
Finding the optimized values of a1, a2…….a9 represent the essential goal of this work
