English Abstract
As a result for the increasing spread of the internet in various domains of life, different applications used for different purposes have been appeared on the yard.
One of these internet applications are the multimedia applications which adds a new direction in serving the internet user by giving the user an important role to decide what are the best requirements for him in terms of quality and cost.
To achieve the user requirements, there is a need to design a management system which is capable of satisfying the user needs.
This led to the appearance of the Quality of Service (QoS) management.
The QoS management is designed to include a number of functions, which will be performed in a serial fashion.
First the user enters his requirements through a Graphical User Interface (GUI) provided with relevant QoS user parameters.
The specified user parameters will be translated into a set of equivalent system parameters.
Next, the QoS manager will take the translated parameters, perform a local check and comparison operations on the client computer, send the user requests, receive the server offers, classify them according to several criteria and preview the classified results to the user.
At any time the user can change his requirements and restart the above activates again.
In this research the QoS management implementation is done by using educational application which provides a number of medical lectures in three forms (video, audio and image).
The research is tested on a multicast network consists of three computers, one of them is client and the rest are servers.
On the client machine, the QoS manager will be located while the server will contain one or more multimedia databases.
The programming language used to implement the research is the visual basic language version 6.
