English Abstract
The current research work study various image resampling methods using some known interpolation functions like: Nearest Neighbor (Box), Averaging, Bilinear (Triangle, Tent, Bartlett), Cubic Cardinal-spline family, Cubic BC-spline family, Gaussian , Bezier curve and Lagrange.
Visual, Quantative and time-consuming comparisons performed between previous mentioned methods using standard tested image to determine the performance of each of them.
Quantative Comparisons between these filters were illustrated using quantitative criteria (like Mean, STD, MSE, PSNR and CCC).
All interpolation filters (interpolation functions) shown in spatial domain.
In addition, some well-known Edge detection and thinning procedure showed to improve magnified image.
In the current work, a useful procedure proposed to resample digital images in more visually acceptable appearance.
This procedure could summarize in the following: 1.
Magnification processes performed in a stair levels.
2.
In each stair level edges must sharpened especially when using Gaussian method.
This proposed method give an acceptable results but in trade of time consuming required in magnification process.
