The rout that Al-Imam Al-Hussian took in his journey to Iraq is the same rout to Iraq known even before Islam which is called Al- Heerah – Mecca rout.

Some sources mention this rout as the rout that the Islamic Arabic army took during the Orthodox Caliphs' reign throughout liberation wars.

It is called Al-Kuffa- Mecca rout after the establishment of AlKuffa.

During the Umayyad period, Al-Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon him) took this rout when he left Mecca to Iraq.

During the Abbasid period, this rout was the rout of pilgrims to Mecca
