English Abstract
In this work, it is the first time in Iraq, a new pumping system is designed and manufactured for solar laser pumping using a hybrid chamber of a reflecting cone-type its inner side aluminum mirror for reflecting light.
This hybrid chamber is characterized by its ability of solar pumping in all directions along the laser medium which provides a high optical transformation of solar radiation through the laser medium, it has low threshold pumping and could be easy made.
The second part of the work includes the study several models of the optical concentrators (solar dish, Fresnel lens) .By calculating the solar concentration ratio with the small signal gain for both concentrators.
The Fresnel lens give a better result than the solar dish.
In order to improve solar dish performance, a secondary optical concentrator is designed for increasing solar dish concentration ratio .
The third part of this work includes experimental study for the three designed and manufactured systems using the following active media (Nd :YAG , Nd: YVO4, Nd: YVO4 with KTP) determined the best model.
The obtained results indicated that (Nd: YVO4) system is the best , a solar laser power of (3mW) at (1.064um) wavelength is achieved
