Five species of sand flies (Phlebotomus alexandri, Phlebotomus major syriacus, Phlebotomus mascitti canaaniticus, Phlebotomus papatasi and Phlebotomus sergenti) were collected from several localities from Jordan.
Phlebotomus papatasi was the most common species.
A checklist of previous records for sand flies of the genus Phlebotomus is given.
