Abstract EN

The paper is composed of three parts, the first assesses petrodollar surpluses through ،he application of some mathematical formula.

The second part deal with the development of Arab oil revenues and the petrodollar surpluses throughout the seventies (1974 - 1980) and the eighties (1981 - 1978) .

Arab foreign inevestments of petrodollar surpluses, are tackled analyticaly in the third part of this paper, throughout the period form 1980 to 1986 • The paper ends by recommending the reorientation of petrodollar surpluses of the Gulf States towards the implementation of programmes of regional development in the GCC's member states.

Such priority should also be within the overall strateg-ic framework of ARAB comprehensive development.
