This work was assigned to study the effect of replacing parts of soybean meal crude protein SBM) with Nigella Sativa seed cake (NSC) on growth performance, amino acids pattern and some blood biochemical constituents in broiler chicks.
One basal starter and finisher corn soybean meal diet (in which SBM crude protein was replaced by NSC crude protein at levels of (0,10, 20 and 30 %) and applied to 160 one day old broiler chick which assigned randomly to 4 dietary equal groups for 7 weeks.
Feeding on diet containing up to 20% NSC resulted in significantly improvement in live body weight and feed conversion.
Recorded results concerning free amino acids revealed significant decrease in the levels of arginine,threonine,serine, valine, isoleucin, aspartic acid, glutamic acid,and alanine.No changes were recorded in the level of lysine, proline and methionine.
Significant increase was recorded in histidine.
Results revealed significant increase in serum total protein, albumin and significant decrease in triglycerides and cholesterol serum concentration at 30% NSC.
Both serum calcium and phosphorus concentration increased significantly.
