English Abstract

The Moroccan government seemed to have focused a lot on the tourism sector in recent years.

Unfortunately, these "efforts ” to promote this sector did not pay the expected dividends.

In this project, I have adopted a micro/operations approach to tackle the problems related to the Moroccan tourism sector.

This approach is intended to overcome the “short-termism ” related to the current approach adopted by the Moroccan government.

An ethnographic research consisting mainly of case snippets, observations and interviews was followed.

The results show that there is no learning taking place in the Moroccan tourism supply chain.

Even worse, there is evidence of negative learning from service providers.

The consequences of this poor supply chain learning were demonstrated to be devastating and far reaching.

The solution seems to be found in supply chain learning.

In other terms, unless supply chain learning starts to take place at the industry and society levels, it is impossible to improve Moroccan service provision.
