English Abstract
Takaful is an Islamic alternative of the conventional insurance.
It is provided in two types; either to insure life or in its common forms.
Takaful, by definition, means to look upon each other and offer a common support for one another.
The concept of Takaful is based on the reciprocated solidarity and assistance.
This kind of Islamic insurance is established among a particular group of participants that desire to be ensured and hedged against any risk or damage.
Those participants ascertain a kind of agreement on mutually guarantying help and indemnification for each one of them under a predetermined pact.
Takaful is Shariaa compliant and it is fully in conformity with the Islamic rules and laws.
This study aims to examine the main factors that would encourage Moroccan citizens to switch from the conventional insurance to the Islamic insurance Takaful.
It focuses on the significance of the relationship between amount of information, attitude, subjective norm, religiosity, income, and the intention to switch to Takaful.
A multiple linear regression analysis has been used in order to test the factors’ relationship.
We were able to collect 150 valid questionnaire responses.
The study results found that amount of information, attitude, religiosity, and subjective norm are the significant influential factors of Moroccans’ intention to switch to Takaful.
Moreover, the study is introducing the Islamic insurance as a new product into the Moroccan market.
The findings are important for the future establishment of Islamic insurance products and services.
Implications, study limitations, and future continuity of the project are provided.
