Gellért mountain, János mountain, Zugliget valley, Budaörs valley and some other gardens in Budapest were examined for land snails four times during June and July 2002.
H.
pomatia, X.
obvia and Z.
detrita were collected from those locations.
The morphological characters and measurements were shown.
The distributions of the snail species in their locations were recorded.
The effects of raised up temperature degrees accompanied with or with out moisture as well as the effect of low on the vital activities and viability were experimentally studied.
At 40°C, 10% of H.
pomatia were still viable for two week, while 40% of X.
obvia and 80% of Z.
detrita were viable for three weeks.
At 5°C; 20% of H.
pomatia, 50% of X.
obvia and 50% of Z.
detrita were still viable for three weeks.
Survival of the snails in Hungary nature, under the effect of the climatic changes, and their behavior were explained.
