Abstract EN
A total of 420 fresh water fish specimens (240 Tilapia sp.
and 180 Clarias lazera) and 280 marine fish specimens (200 Saurus tumbil and 80 Epinephelus gigas), are investigated for tissue protozoa.
Four different protozoal parasites are revealed.
Namely, Myxobolus dermatobia (12.5%), Henneguya branchialis (16.7%), Myxidium spp.
(3.9%) and Glugea spp.
(35%).
Tilapia spp.
is found infected with Myxobolus dermatobia, Clarias lazera is found infected with Henneguya branchialis and Myxidium spp., while Glugea spp.
revealed only from the marine fish Saurus tumbil.
On the other hand, non of the revealed parasites recorded from the marine fish Epinephelus gigas.
Infection rates as well as Seasonal dynamics are discussed.
Morphological and ultrastructural features are studied using both scanning and transmission electron microscope beside the light microscopy.
