English Abstract

This study empirically assesses the determinants of life expectancy in Morocco during the period 1988-2011.

For that purpose, we used a simple linear regression model.

The determinant factors of life expectancy in Morocco are associated with environmental, economic and social factors.

This study has been referring to other studies done in other countries like Turkey.

Our empirical results show that, on average, a 1% rise in food production index increases longevity by 0.086% and on the other hand, a 1% decrease in illiteracy increases life expectancy by 0.05%.

Policy implications are discussed.
