Background : Autoimmune Polyendocrinopathy·CandidasisEctodermal Dystrophy (APECEO) sy ndrome is a ra re, bu t wellknown cause of chronic keratoconjunctivitis with ear ly onset.

Patient : A 15 year-old boy with APECED synd rome, whom was referred to o ur hospila l because of intense photophobia and bl epharos pasm.

Results : On cli nical exam inati on the patient had seve re keratit is accompanied by iri docycl it is.

The patient showed dramati c res po nse to tcplcn l cort ic ostero id s and cvclcplcqlcs.

Conclusion : Chro ni c bilate ral keratilis is an ocular man ife statio n of APECEO.

When an ophthalmolog is t is confronted with a young ch ild or ado lescent and bilatera l ch ro nic keratitis wi th symptoms of Intense photophobia.
