English Abstract

Micro-fmance programs emerged in mid-eighties to assist and provide the low income population with financial services in order to start or expand businesses.

Actually, micro-fmance benefits to the under-privileged population could be diverse: credit, savings, insurance and remittances to invest in businesses, stabilize consumption, or hedge financial risks and income fluctuations (Elizabeth Littlefield and Richard Rosenberg, 2004).

Because micro-finance seems to be a successful solution to many social problems including unemployment and poverty, one instantly thinks about promoting his/her standard of living.

Specifically, this applies to the improvement of living standards of Ifrane’s residents through micro-finance.

The key questions of the following research are: • Would micro-credit allow new opportunities for Ifrane citizens? • Would it improve the well-being of their households? The purpose of this framework study is to invcsiigate the level of awareness of Ifrane’s residents regarding micro-credit, identify its uses and areas of investment, and evaluate its potential impact on the welfare of the beneficiaries.

This step would permit the assessment of the overall impact on the well-being of the province.

The results of this research will provide clear highlights on the importance of micro-finance services in the region.

A significant positive impact implies that micro-fmance institutions should consider allocating close agencies and offering more micro-fmance services such as training, assistance and consulting to enhance their benefits to the needy population, and enhance the entrepreneurial spirit in the region.
