English Abstract

The project is inspired from Dubai City futuristic ambitions that aim at providing shoppers/visitors wiih PDA upon thdi arrival to the airport to easa their shopping experience.

This project is a modest prototype for providing such services.

It allows shoppers to lookup products in a virtual catalog and locate shops within a city map.

It also allows shops/businesses to broadcast sales and rebates to all the shoppers.

The system is built around a J2EE platform; its various services are exposed as web services and consumed by clients on IPaqs (PDAs) running Microsoft Pocket PC 2000.

At this stage, the system does not provide E-Transaction services.
