English Abstract

With the proliferation of document formats and standards, enterprises today suffer from managing different formats of the same business document.

This problem is inherited fh?m previous document standards which do not separate the content from the layout.

The aim of this project is lo build a framework named Enterprise-Wide Output Server, EWOS, based on cutting edge technologies, that enables companies to solve one of the most crucial problems nowadays; i.e., Multi-Channel Output Management.

This framework seeks to unify the different versions of business documents by tising XML and Its surrounding technologies.

In addition, it allows easy generation of business documents in different output formats and channels, such as Portable Document Format and Short Message Service.

The main objectives of the framework ihat will be covered by this report are: • Separating the content and the layout of a document using XML.

• Handling dynamic resourceswAicft are subject to change in the future.

• Generating documents in different output formats and channels.
