Abstract EN

This research study aims to measure the mediating role of job embeddedness in the relationship between psychological capital of employees and their organizational cynicism, using a sample of550 employees working in the government sector in Dakahliya Governorate.

The response rate was (95.60%).

Structure Equation Model (SEM) was then used to measure the direct and indirect effects of the employees’ psychological capital on organizational cynicism.

Results showed that job embeddedness plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between the psychological capital of employees and their organizational cynicism; job embeddedness buffers the negative impact of organizational cynicism among employees.

On the other hand, results showed a positive relationship between psychological capital and job embeddedness.

Finally, results revealed a direct negative-effect relationship between job embeddedness and organizational cynicism.

According to research results, the researcher suggests a set of recommendations that could contribute to the development of psychological capital among employees while increasing the level of job embeddedness, which eventually reduces the level of organizational cynicism.
