The purpose of this research is to ،؛etermine the ١٠٢٠١ of scientific interest among basic stage stu،؛ents, and its relation to grade ١٠٢٠١, sex, and achievement in science.
A cluster sample of (730) subjects (15 sections) was randomly selected and utilized.
To collect data, Science Interest Scale (28 items) was applied.
To answer the research questions, and to test the four null hypotheses, t-test, one -way ANOVA, and (2x2x3) ANOVA were applied.
The major findings of the research may be summarized as follows: The level of scientific interest among research sample was 2.81 / 70.25% (73.25% for sixth grade and 67% for tenth grade), and for males (6ر(%و for females (71.75%), for high achievement in science (75.25%), moderate (68.5%), and low (65.25%).
There was significant statistical difference in the means of scores of scientific interest due to grade level, sex, achievement in science, and the reaction between grade level and achievement.
The effect size for grade level was (5.62%), for achievement in science (2و.0ا%) and for the interaction (2.1%).
Finally, the research ended by suggesting several recommendations related to the development of scientific interest among students at the basic stage level in Jordan.
