Abstract AR
Abstract EN
This research explores the relationship between the level of scientific thinking and favorite learning styles among upper basic stage students in Jordan.
Therefore, a stratified cluster sample that consisted of (1213) schools male and female students in the 8th to 10th levels of study was selected from government schools.
A scientific thinking test was developed, and VARK measure was used to collect data.
The results showed that the level of scientific thinking among the members of the study sample is low, and it evolved with the progress in the educational level among female students compared to male students.
As it turns out that there is variation in learning styles among students who are substantially different in scientific thinking in favor of visual-kinesthetic style.
In the light of research results workers in the field of science education are recommended to concentrate their efforts on raising the level of scientific thinking among students and to take identification different styles of learning preferences in pre and in-service teachers' preparing programs into account to help students succeed with different learning styles.
