English Abstract
Cloud computing presents a new IT paradigm shift.
This completely modifies the approaches/perspectives of IT businesses toward Information Systems development.
With computing becoming a utility rather than a mere product, more and more businesses are “forced” to adopt this new paradigm.
Cloud computing is primarily enabled by virtualization, a technology that has been around for decades.
Virtualization is making Cloud computing a reality for millions when they access their social network services, e-mail providers, and so on.
In this master project, we deployed a Cloud infrastructure to provide students, at Al Akhawayn University, with Linux-based virtual machines to help them with their coursework.
This Cloud infrastructure is based on the Open Source project OpenStack.
The deployed Cloud platform can serve as a blue-print for deploying “seed” Cloud Computing Platforms meant primarily for research and academia.
To ease accessibility, a web portal specifically designed for the students has been implemented.
