English Abstract
Organizations operating in today’s global economy are faced with unprecedented competitive and regulatory pressures and a heightened level of uncertainty.
In this market environment, there is a trend toward continuously shrinking decision cycles where improved, faster, more accurate, insightful, and flexible decision making commands a premium and serves as a basis for competitive advantage.
For this purpose, companies nowadays are investing, more than ever, in Information Technology solutions and Software for analyzing financial and operational data to speed and improve decision-making processes to make better informed decisions.
This set of technology that serves corporate decision making is known as Business Intelligence.
In this report, we present a project that was realized in the framework of a Business Intelligence project undertaken for the central bank of Morocco: Bank Al Maghrib.
This solution concerned a specific process inside the accounting department of the company which is the Activity Based Costing (ABC) process.
The project aimed not only at the automation of the ABC process, but also at ensuring the quality, integrity, accuracy and security of the data and data flows along the process.
The main objective is to provide decision makers and management control officers with the necessary data regularly and in a timely manner for managing their costs, planning their future budgets, and detecting opportunities of cost reduction in order to make better profits.
The final solution, as presented to the business users, is a reporting solutions that summarizes the all the costs incurred on a monthly and a yearly basis, at different cost allocation levels.
