English Abstract

The Wireless Sensors Network is nowadays widely used in building decision support systems to overcome many problems in the world.

One of the most interesting fields having an increasing need of decision support systems is agriculture.

Inefficient and wasteful methods of soil monitoring and plant maintenance lead to time and cost waste for farmers.

This project’s objective is to create a compact, low-cost, easy-to-use and expandable agricultural monitoring solution for farmers in Morocco.

In order to meet these standards, a wireless mesh network configuration of sensor nodes is a promising way to allow for easy, fast, and remote monitoring of soil and crop conditions.

This report presents Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) as the best way to overcome the agricultural problems related to farming resources optimization, decision making support, and land monitoring.

This approach makes it possible to know at any time information about the lands and crops, so that we can help farmers with notifications and suggestions that will make farmers able to make the right decisions during their farming tasks.

It addresses the advantages of the precision agriculture approach to help make valuable decisions which could not only maximize the production but also minimize the use of resources.

This report gives the description of our precision agriculture system and its added values that will provide meaningful services to farmers in Morocco.
