English Abstract
During the last decade, information systems have emerged to become one of the most important areas in the world of technologies.
Like organizations, top-level universities started to use this facility and have seen their results considerably improved.
However, as the community was growing, the number of systems had to increase as well.
This raised the complexity of the global work-flow throughout the entire enterprise and created additional costs and complexity.
In this context, a new approach, named enterprise architecture saw the light.
This methodology is a blueprint that identifies both the structure and processes of an organization, and defines how this enterprise can successfully reach its current and future objectives.
The first main goal of the project is to establish an outline that aims to design an enterprise architecture for the University of Al Akhawayn.
The objective is to unify all information systems and IT infrastructures of the university under two main pillars, which are Jenzabar and Sage.
This will optimize business flows and make information systems more homogenous within the architecture of the school.
To achieve this mission, EA considers four important strategies which are the key business, application, information and technology, along with their effects on business procedures.
The second part of the project is about the development of two important systems which are a top priority in the enterprise architecture vision of the Al Akhawayn University.
The first one is entitled “Point of Sales Transaction”, and will allow student to manage their balance accounts and visualize their cash-wallet transactions.
The second one, named “Book Store Management System”, comes as a replacement of the old application TechLib.
Both systems will be integrated within the existing ERP (Jenzabar) as portlets.
