English Abstract

The implementation of an e-Government system is an efficient way toward a transformation to knowledge-based societies that are aware of their rights through digital communication.

This master project aims at designing and deploying a network architecture as a first step toward implementing the e-Government system for the city of Fez that will enhance the quality of governance for both government, citizens, and mitigate the digital divide problem in Fez in the future.

In order to implement Fez E-government project and achieve the goals of this master project, we had first to improve the existing infrastructure as well as the provided IT resources in our pilot project Arrondissement AGDAL and Office of “Etat Civil”.

In collaboration with the IT department in Arrondissement AGDAL and AUI, many goals were achieved in this master project: ? Connecting the administrative offices to Internet; ? Providing and deploying the necessary infrastructure and equipments (cabling, switches, servers, computers, routers); ? Facilitating the communication between the citizens and the employees in the public administrations through a mail communication channel and a VPN connection; ? Introducing and implementing security aspects into different public administrations offices through the use of VLANs and firewall; ? Preparing and deploying a secure and reliable infrastructure for the portal www.portaildefes.ma by providing web, application and database servers.
