Background This study aimed at assessment of the frequency of cancer larynx among Egyptian farmers presented by hoarseness of voice because of an end laryngeal lesion. Results : the histopathologically results of the lesions showed that the glottic region was the most commonly affected one by end laryngeal lesions; benign lesions representing 55% of the cases, while malignant lesions represented 45% of cases.

The most common benign lesions.

Were fibrous vocal cord (vc.) nodules.

Granulomatous lesions represented 13.3% of the cases, of which scleroma were detected in 6 cases (2%) while T.B.

was detected in only 2 cases (0.66%).

All the malignant lesions (135 cases) were nodules, the commonest malignancy was squamous cell carcinoma (scc.) (91.9%) followed by adenocarcinoma (4.4%) then carcinoma in situ in (3.7%).

No malignant lesions were detected in the studied female patients.

No malignant lesions were detected before the age of 30, and most of the lesions were malignant after the age of 70.
