English Abstract
The purpose of this study is to discuss the effects and obstacles of applying Intelligent Transportation System strategies in directorate general of civil aviation.
The methodology of this work is the theoretical framework of secondary data of Intelligent Transportation System in Civil Aviation found in journal articles, relevant textbooks, and websites was employed.
In this context, also covers a review of literature that discusses the Intelligent Transportation System in Civil Aviation such as airport technology and other various systems.
While the primary data comprises an interviews that conducted and survey questionnaire that investigated more than 300 employees and passengers in Kuwait International Airport.
Additionally, the data gathered was streamlined and analyzed using a computer statistical package (SPSS).
The main results of this study according to the respondents point of view are 76.80% of employees in Kuwait Airport say implementing intelligent transportation system enhancing the safety, mobility, people welfare, and productivity in air traffic.
These enhance the status of the airport as a focal point.
Furthermore, 75.60% of passengers who would use self-service technologies to reduce the time that spent in travel processing.
Consequently, when it comes to the challenges that face the implementation of Intelligent Transportation System, it can be said that the absence of strategic planning in applying the strategic vision for the implementation of Intelligent System which recorded a high percent that equals to 72.40% from the point of view of the employees in Kuwait International Airport.
In addition, the study assures that there is significant opportunity to enhance the efficiency, safety, and convenience of airport travelers' access the information through by increasing the use of Intelligent Transportation System technologies.
The survey reported that over 75% of air passengers Agree with the effective of Intelligent Transportation System in Civil Aviation.
