Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the role of local radios in Hebron in developing the cultural awareness among housewives as well as the satisfactions that have been fulfilled.

Besides, the study aims to identify the shortcomings of the local radio programs.

The survey methodology has been applied on a random sample of (400) housewives in Hebron district.

The results show that the primary motivation for housewives listening to the local radios is to be acquainted with the local events.

Despite the fact that local radios play a role in educating and rising the awareness of housewives, there is a dissatisfaction among them with regard to providing programs that primarily address housewives, especially in the family, religious and health fields.

Also, the results show that Radio Al- Horriya has occupied the first place among the others for its diversity of programs.
