English Abstract

Densities, refractive indices and viscosities have been experimentally measured at the temperature range 298.15 to 328.15oK (25-55oC)for aqueous powder milk solutions (with milk concentrations 0.5%, 1%, 2%, --- 8%, 9%, 10%), ghee / ethanol and ghee / ethyl acetate liquid mixtures (with ghee concentrations 70%, 72.5%, 75%, --- 95%, 97.5%, 100%).

The refractive indices were measured at the required temperatures with the thermo stated highly précised Abbes refractometer at the visible D spectral line (Na, λ = 589nm).

Optical absorption and X ray fluorescence spectrometry have been experimentally analyzed for pure and mixed samples.

A comparative study has been reported for all samples between the specific refractions of different mixing rule equations (such as Lorentz-Lorenz, Oster, Arago-Biot, Newton, Gladstone-Dale, Edwards,Lichtenecker, Looyenga, Johst and Eykman) and between viscosities of different mixing rule equations (such as Duhne and Clements).

In this study, it has been verified that the specific refraction in all mixing rules models are independent of temperature except Argo-Biot and Edwards models.

This study illustrates the calculated values each of temperature and concentration of specific gravity, activation energy, optical permittivity, electric polarizability, electric susceptibility, normal incidence reflectance and normal incidence transmittance.

This study gives high accuracy polynomial fitting equations of all measured and calculated physical properties.

In this we have a good agreement between the measured and calculated values using Duhne and Souders.

ourstudy has shown that the low concentration powder milk samples can be used as a simulating phantom medium in light dosimetry experiments because it is turbid and has no strong absorption bands in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum, and is readily available, safe and cheap.
