Abstract EN

Al-Rumaytha city is the centre of Al-Rumaytha district and an administrative unit within Al-Rumaytha Governorate.

It resides in the North-West part of the Governorate .

It extends over an area of 106 square kilometers and has a population of 68781 citizens.

It consists of 3 residential quarters.

This thesis aims at studying the urban land uses in this city and at evaluating them in order to put forward their future trends .

The study comprised the conception of both - city and urban land uses, the urban land uses classifications and their defining elements .It also comprised land use theories and site requirements for each use in general, some factors affecting these uses, and a study of Al- Rumaytha city concerning its evolution and the phases of its constructional development.

The researcher has arrived at a number of recommendations and suggestions hoping to be taken into consideration by the governmental institutions in order to achieve the desired aims.
