Abstract EN

This study aims at underlying the main reasons that has pushed Algeria to adopt the liberal democratic choice which focuses on the foundation of democratic institutions.

The second target of the paper is to analyze the .adequacy and the appropriateness of these institutions The analysis has shown that Algeria has fulfilled an important role in the matter, starting with the ‘democratic’ constitutions as a support, to the establishment of multi-parties, equality, and sharing political ruling.

In addition to the reinforcement of local authorities and non-elected institutions, such as the constitutional council, the.supreme information council, and the supreme security council The present work has also evaluated ‘democracy’ in Algeria and it has been obvious that democracy has reached.its aims and finalities, what is needed is to fulfill other political, economic, social and cultural reforms
