Abstract AR

Given the increasing importance of the effective methods of teaching geography at university as provided for by the modern educational literature, the overall goal of this article is to identify the views of students about teacher application of the educational project methods on teaching geography at the University of Hassan II in Casablanca.

we then started clarifying the secondary objectives, including the extraction of the students views at the university about the methods adopted therein, the determination of the role of sex and faculty variables in the diagnosis of the actual practice of the educational project method in terms of the teacher’s identification of the basic steps and providing students with basic references and sources then clarifying the evaluation methods used by teachers to assess this method.

We chose a sample of 400 female students from three faculties (Faculty of Arts and Humanities Ben Msik, Ain Chock and Mouhammadia) and we then got just 288 forms.

After that we used descriptive approach to analyze the statistical data through adopting the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, SPSS in order to get frequencies and percentages, and deviate differences function depending on the k h²test.

The results of the current study have revealed the deficiencies of the application of this method by teachers.

This is due to the lack of a clarification of the basic steps students need to follow, the non-surveillance of their work and the absence of key references in addition to the continuous traditional evaluation based on a numerical point without giving specific criteria, which need to be reconsidered in line with the university pedagogical reform.

As a result, we recommend the inclusion of this method within the active methods to teach geography and conduct a research on the effective methods such those dealing with solving problems and e-learning.
