Abstract EN

This research has studied thirty characters from monotheists ‘Hanifs’ of the Arab community before Islam.

It proved the existence of Hanifs before Islam.

Their main belief is monotheism ‘Hanafiyya’ ; they believed in God’s oneness and his recipes perfection, the doom’s day, fate, destiny and the concluding or final prophecy.

The spread of monotheism ‘Hanafiyya’ among Arabs included all Arab tribes and regions, and it involved all stages of history started from Prophet Abraham and ended with Prophet Mohammad.

Therefore, the term ‘Hanif’ referred only to Abraham’s ‘Ibrahim’ followers and not to Jews, Christians, Magi or any polytheist.

However, later, Amru bin Luhai Alkhuzaai had gradually admitted the worship of idols to ‘Hanafiyya’, which had eventually strengthened atheism ‘Idolatry’ and weakened ‘Hanafiyya’, and its followers decreased.

As a result, Hanifs or monotheists became just individuals scattered in the community, and they tried only to preserve their inherited belief or religion without having an effective power in the society.

In conclusion, Hanifs are not Christians and have no relation with Christianity, because it is the religion of Islam and the religion of Allah the Almighty which is against all sorts of polytheism as related to the belief, speech and action.
