The research focuses on the findings of the UN Special Committee’s Report on the Palestine Question in 1947.
The committee’s task was to find a suitable solution acceptable by all parties.
The committee began its official work with a visit to Palestine, after which it presented its report that included two proposals for the solution of the Palestinian problem: A majority that proposed dividing Palestine into two states, a Palestinian state and a Jewish state.
A minority proposed the creation of one federal state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The UN, however, adopted the former solution of partition into two states and issued its resolution no.
182\2 .
This has resulted in what is known now as the Arab Israeli conflict.
