Abstract EN

Five citrus rootstocks (viz.

sour orange, local lime, Volkameriana, Rough lemon and Rangpur lime) were budded with “Sinnari” orange scions for evaluation of vegetative growth on newly reclaimed soil of EL-Hafian Farm, eleven kilometers from eastern bank of the Nile.

Growth parameters of Sinnari orange were evaluated for five successive years in terms of height, canopy width, circumference, and growth index.

All growth parameters of Sinnari orange budded onto local lime were superior over those of the other rootstocks.

There were no significant differences in plant height and stem circumference among Rangpur lime, Rough lemon, sour-orange and Volkameriana rootstocks and between Volkameriana and Rangpur in growth index.
