Abstract EN

this study analytically deals with the assumption that in the absence of social capital, societies, their institutions and members may not be able to achieve quality of outputs relying only on physical and human capitals.

So in order for Societies and their institutions to benefit from their physical and human wealth in achieving their objectives, they have to put social capital into consideration, as it asserts on trust, the formation of institutional and individual network of relationships, and on commitment to principles, values, and ethics.

Therefore, the current study aims at: firstly, providing a comprehensive definition of social capital in the light of its contribution to quality assurance and accreditation of higher education in Egypt.

Secondly, discovering the reflections and implications of social capital on quality assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education.

Thirdly, uncovering some laws and assumptions of social capital regarding its relation to physical and human capitals.

Fourthly, analyzing the indicators of waste in social capital in the Egyptian society.

Fifthly, putting four different scenarios for social capital and discussing the effects of each of these scenarios on quality assurance and accreditation of higher education.

Sixthly, showing the contributions of social capital in the field of quality assurance and accreditation of higher education.

And finally, clarifying the ability of higher education institutions in developing social capital
