Technical analysis or charting is a technique which uses the patterns of the price history of a financial instrument in order to provide indications on the future behavior of prices.

It contains many instruments; one of them is Japanese candlestick.

This research paper tries to indicate to role of this instrument in forecasting the future of Doha Stock Market (one of the important Arab financial markets).

The results show that the Japanese candlestick can predict the future of the market to a large extent، especially in the monthly candlestick chart.
