This paper aims to uncover information about a great Andalusian poet, one of the poets of the sixth century AH; this poet had been unknown for a long time until his poetic production was revealed.

A researcher, called Dr.

Hay at Qara, managed to verify a manuscript entitled “Kanz Alkuttab wa Montakhab Alaadab” (Writers’ Treasure and Selections of Literary Works) by Albonasy.

This important manuscript belongs to Almoravids Era and Almouwahideen Era.

Included were some poems composed by Ibn Shakil.

The researcher attempted to collect Ibn Shakil’s poetry from the different referenced Andalusian sources and present for researchers a divan which includes his collected poetry.

This research will analytically study Ibn Shakil’s poetic production.

The paper is divided into two main sections: Tendencies in Ibn Shakil’s poetry and a literary analysis of his poetic production to identify the most significant stylistic features in his poetry.
