This study aims to constnict a training programme to enhance the professional competencies of Kindergarten female teachers in South Batinah Province in the Sultanate of Oman.

It also aims to identify the differences between teachers’judgments of the construction ot the training programme mainly attributed to the variables of years of experience, age and Willayah (goveraorateV The study applied the analytical descriptive approach to achieve the study objectives.

The researcher prepared a 41- item questionnaire covering the areas; lesson planning, teaching strategies, class management, human relations and evaluation.

The sample of the study consisted of 58 female teachers randomly chosen from South Batinah kindergartens.

The study results showed that kindergarten teachers realize the importance of professional competencies in their daily tasks in the following order: evaluation, lesson planning, human relations, teaching strategies and class management.

The study also revealed dirferences of statistical significance between the teachers’judgments of the competencies in favor of age variable, mainly (22-30 years) age group.

No differences were noted as far as the variables of years of experience and Willayah.

Therefore, the training programme was constmcted in compliance with the results of the study.

In the light of the results ot the study the following recommendations were offered; 1.

The Education Department of South Batinah Province, represented by the Human Resources Section, should implement the programme and set it as one of its annual training programmes for kindergarten female teachers.
