Abstract EN

The present study aims at clarifying how the marital adjustment is correlated to the financial level and the depth of the religious faith among Palestinian couples in the South of the West Bank.

The present study adopted the qualitative quantitative method as it suits this type of studies.

The study sample consisted of 922 husbands and 263 wives in the South of the West Bank from the districts of Bethlehem and Hebron, including cities , villages and refugee camps.

A questionnaire was designed for the study purpose.

The results showed that there are differences in the extent of the marital adjustment due to the family financial level and how religious the couples are.

The better the financial level is and the more religious the couples are the more marital adjustment is.

Families that have a very good financial level have more martial adjustment compared to families with limited and very limited financial level.

That's because the financial level plays a role in fulfilling the family needs, and therefore, helps in creating family and marital stability.

In addition, the adjustment is more among couples which are more religious due to the religious values and instructions they have , and which urge them to do their duties and present a role model for their children on how to respect one the other, which consequently create marital adjustment.
