Abstract EN

The X-band radar station is designed to operate in high wind, rugged mountain, and heavy seas.

Fixed radars provide coverage for a very limited area due to the curvature of the Earth.

So, movable radar station/multi radar stations are the only solution to introduce the target's ability to reflect radar signals in the direction of the radar receiver to cover larger distances, and finding optimal detection probabilities.This paper studies and illustrates the radar coverage for Bana Bawi anticlines in Erbil city (IRAQ) for X-band applications.

Three sites of Bana Bawi anticlines are selected as case study to check for optimal radar coverage and detection probabilities applicable for X-band frequencies using two-dimensional representations of three-dimensional objects.

Simulations are made for different considerable sites, different radar cross sections (RCS), and different transmitting frequencies for multipath/lobbing pattern.
