Abstract EN

The current study aims at identifying the perceptions of the level of job satisfaction according to the functional characteristics.

The group of the study consists of (350) female teachers from the schools of the central region for the school year (2012-2013).

A questionnaire is used to collect data.

The questionnaire has thirty items.

Moreover, the validty and reliablty of the instrumentation used in this study are carefully checked.

The reliability coefficient measure of job satisfaction is at (0.94).

The results of the study show that the level of job satisfaction is moderate, and with regard to the order of the mean areas are as follows (the relationship with their seniors in the work, the nature of the work, social status and community assessment, salaries and incentives).

Th results also show that there are statistically significant differences in the level of job satisfaction which might be attributable to a variable experience and for ten years and above while the results do not show a statistically significant difference due to the variable qualification.

The study comes up with a set of recommendations.

The most important recommendation is that the job satisfaction should be one of the main topics of interest and priorities of the Ministry of Education and the increase of the social awareness by means of workshops on the importance of kindergartens
