Abstract EN

The United Nations worked for undertaking a further development of human rights instruments in a spirit of reform.

It is in this framework that a Human Rights Council replaced the Human Rights Commission in 2006.

This was followed by the institution of the ‘universal periodic review’ which goal is to improve the organization work in the area of human rights through a better supervision of governments’ practices.

We will try in the following essay to identify these new instruments, their procedures as well as the status of Algeria within them

L'Organisation des Nations Unies a créé le comité des droits de l'homme mais suite à de nombreuses critiques elle l’a remplacé en 2006 par une nouvelle structure appelée le «Conseil des droits de l’homme » qui a été doté de plusieurs mécanismes dont « l’examen périodique universel » ayant pour objectif la mise en oeuvre d’un contrôle plus efficace sur les Etats en matière de droits de l’homme.

Cette étude a pour but de mettre en lumière le cadre notionnel de ce mécanisme à travers sa propre conceptualisation et son mode d’emploi, et d’analyser une situation expérimentale à travers le premier et le deuxième rapport concernant l’Algérie.
